VRF automation and central AC control
Bring your existing VRF and AC systems onto one screen; manage operating hours, setpoint limits and after-hours shutdown centrally on compatible equipment.
- Connection
- VRF bus, infrared, Modbus, BACnet
- Screen
- FiotX web and mobile app
- Starting point
- One floor or 5–10 compatible units

What can be managed?
In a multi-branch business, an office or a school, knowing when the ACs run is the first step of saving. Then come the rules.
Operating schedules
Working hours per floor, zone or unit group. Public holidays and special days defined separately.
Setpoint limits
The lowest and highest setpoints users can select. Comfort is protected, extreme settings are blocked.
After-hours shutdown
See units left running at close; shut them down by rule or notify the responsible person.
Bulk commands
One command to many units. Devices that don't support a command are shown separately in the preview and skipped.
Status & fault codes
Operating state, mode, setpoint and fault codes in one list. Alarms reach the right person and are tracked to closure.
Energy visibility
Consumption via PN Energy or a compatible meter, split into in-hours and after-hours.
How does each equipment type connect?
Devices are chosen for the equipment on site. Readable and controllable points vary by brand, series and model, and are confirmed in writing at the survey.
| Equipment | Connection | Seen & managed |
|---|---|---|
| VRF system | PN Climate HVAC gateway | Per-indoor-unit setpoint, mode, fan, status and fault code; setpoint, mode and lock commands on compatible series. |
| Split & cassette AC | PN Climate IR (infrared) | On/off, mode and setpoint commands. The AC gives no feedback, so the screen shows "command sent". |
| Fan coils & AHUs | PN Climate HVAC, PN Connect | Run and fault status, filter alarms, control at suitable points. |
| Pumps, boilers, chillers | PN Connect (dry contact, 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, relay) | Run and fault contacts, analogue readings, relay control. |
| Panels & circuits | PN Energy or compatible meter | Circuit-level consumption, in-hours vs after-hours. |
| Ambient | PN Sense (battery wireless) | Room temperature and humidity where cabling is impractical. |
| Existing BMS | Modbus, BACnet | Data is exposed to the BMS and FiotX at the same time; BMS habits stay intact. |
How do we verify a command took effect?
We show clearly where the state on screen comes from.
- VRF bus: the setpoint and state the indoor unit applied are read back from the bus; the result is verified.
- Infrared control: a split AC doesn't acknowledge commands. The screen shows "command sent"; room temperature is the indirect indicator.
- Unknown values: if a brand doesn't expose a value, it shows as empty — never as zero or "normal".
Pilot approach
Equipment & operating pattern
Brand, series, unit count, working hours and existing controllers/BMS. Which points will be read and managed is agreed in writing.
One floor or 5–10 units
The current state is recorded first, then schedules and setpoint limits go live. Duration depends on the site; 4–6 weeks is a typical start.
Results against criteria
Data coverage, after-hours running time, comfort change, applied actions and, where a meter exists, condition-adjusted consumption.
Worth knowing
Around AC and VRF, we also do all of this.
Let's define the pilot scope together.
Share your equipment list and working pattern; we'll propose a pilot with written criteria.
